This stunning poster was designed in 1966 by Giulio Cittato for Container Corporation of America’s Chicago Cultural Communication Project. All the world’s a stage! This print captures the wonders of the theater in a crisp black and white.

About the designer
Giulio Cittato (1936–1986) was an Italian graphic designer and educator known for his contributions to corporate identity and signage design. Born in Venice, Italy, on June 3, 1936, he graduated from Venice University in 1963 and began his career at La Rinascente in Milan. In 1965, Cittato moved to the United States, where he worked for Unimark International, the Center for Advanced Research in Design, and the Container Corporation of America. During this period, he was involved in various design projects, including architectural graphics and packaging design.
In 1971, Cittato returned to Italy and designed the corporate identity program and signage for the Venetian public transport authorities. He also taught visual design at the Corso Superiore di Disegno Industriale and the International University of Art in Venice. His work is characterized by clear, colorful compositions and has been exhibited in venues such as the Smithsonian Institution in 1969, as well as in Milan, Montreal, and Venice. Samples of his work are part of collections at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and other museums worldwide.
He was also a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI), reflecting his significant impact on the field of graphic design.
