We’ve had our eyes on Helmo (Thomas Couderc and Clément Vauchez) ever since we first discovered their work in the IDEA (No. 362) report on French contemporary designers in 2013. They are so good and their expansive style keep us on our toes. 

There is an idealism at the heart of the studio: “Helmo clearly believes in the power of graphic design and its ability – if not to alter lives… – to at least enrich contemporary visual culture.”

Stratigraphy is the duo’s silkscreen combinatorial overprinting project. Since it was initiated in 2012, it has yielded impressive results. 

This latest edition is a gorgeous screen print rendered in four colors (including a dazzling silver). The design was expertly printed by Lézard Graphique—one of the world’s finest printshops.
